St. Vincent Stumps La Roche, 10-1

LATROBE, Pa. - The La Roche men's soccer team suffered their fifth defeat this season against St. Vincent College Thursday evening in a non-conference matchup. The Redhawks suffered a 10-1 defeat at St. Vincent and are now 0-5 this season. The convicing win for the Bearcats was their first of the season as they are now 1-4.

The Bearcats were utterly oppressive in this game, scoring four goals in the first period and six in the second. Six different players scored one goal, while St. Vincent's Jesse Detweiler scored four goals. La Roche did have the pride of taking the first goal of the game 12 minutes into the first period, thanks to Ryan Truax, #17, from Chicora High School in Karns City PA, with no recorded assists. Truax used his speed to get out on a breakaway and sealed the deal with his first goal of the season.

Shot for shot, La Roche recorded 5 shots, while St. Vincent had 41.

UP NEXT: La Roche's sixth game of the season will be Wednesday, September 22 at 7 PM against Washington and Jefferson
