Lady Redhawks continue 7-0 Win Streak; Abram and Mazyck Earn Double Doubles

PITTSBURGH, PA - Tonight the women's basketball team at La Roche University continued their streak and continues on with their seven game win streak. The team made sure to come out strong and stay that way, never once letting up.

The team had a great night, shooting 53.3 percent from the three point arc. The Lady Redhawks' defense forced 17 turnovers and converted that hard work into 18 points.

Earning her first double double tonight was freshman, Makayla Abram. Abram went to work and ended the game with 20 points, and 14 rebounds; seven offensive rebounds, and seven defensive rebounds. She for the season has more offensive rebounds recorded than defensive. Abram averages 13 points per game, and it shows with a 48.4 field goal percentage.

With her fifth double double of the season, Ayanna Mazyck followed suit and netted 11 points and captured 10 rebounds.

The offensive tonight was exquisite and it shows with dominating in the paint. 40 points originated from the paint, and 19 points came from second chances due to hard offensive rebounding.

Senior Danajah Sanders rounded up the double digit Redhawks. Sanders scored 19 points, and led in teamwork with six assists.

The team is off this weekend, taking a much needed break, but will be back on the road on February 9th to face off against Mount Aloysius.
