Baseball Splits with Pitt-Bradford

Bethany, W. Va. - The Bethany College baseball team took on the Pitt-Bradford Panthers in a non-conference doubleheader early Sunday afternoon at Bethany Park. The Bison and Panthers split the doubleheader with Bethany taking game two.

Game One Overview

Bethany fell to Pitt-Bradford, 5-0

The Panthers cruised by the Bison in game one of the doubleheader. Pitt-Bradford's Ryan Boyer struck out 15 Bison and gave up two hits. Bethany's middle infielders, Kyle Goodwin and Colton Stoneman reached base safely.

Game Two Overview
Bethany edged Pitt-Bradford, 2-1

The Bison redeemed themselves for game two of the doubleheader. In the top of the third, the Panthers struck first taking a 1-0 lead. The lead didn't last long, with Bethany getting on the board from a Colton Stoneman double that drove in Mike Whiteherse. The game was knotted until the sixth inning when the Bison got the go ahead run from a Tyler Alworth single down the line that scored Ethan Young. Young reached base with a triple. The Bison held on and took game two.
