Carlow jumped out to a 6-1 advantage in the second set and maintained their lead until midway through the game.

Two kills in a row from Thiel cut Carlow's lead to one, and a service ace tied the game at 10-all. Another kill gave the Tomcats their first lead of the set before back-to-back kills from Cyprowski and Gavin McLain put the Celtics ahead one.

Thiel outscored Carlow 6-2 to end the second set, 25-16.

The Celtics once again started with the lead in the third set, ahead 6-3 to start the game. Both teams tied the score and traded leads several times, eventually ending up tied at 16-all.

Two errors in a row from the Celtics gave Thiel a 20-17 advantage, and although Carlow battled until the end, the Tomcats landed a kill to end the set, 25-20.
