Men’s Soccer opens AMCC action with loss at Hilbert

HAMBURG, N.Y. --- Carlow University men's soccer opened Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference play with a 3-0 loss at Hilbert College Saturday.

The Hawks (2-5) out-shot the Celtics (1-4-1) 19-4 on the day, allowing Carlow just one shot on goal the entire match.

Carlow prevented Hilbert from scoring the first half, with both teams deadlocked at zero heading into the intermission.

The Hawks broke the stalemate a little over five minutes into the second half with a goal from Jason Vullo.

Carter Burke would find Vullo again at 67' to put Hilbert ahead, 2-0.

Hilbert scored its third and final goal just six minutes later to secure the win.

Goalkeeper Kevin Garcia tallied 11 saves in the complete game effort.

Hilbert held a 10-5 corner kick advantage over the Celtics.

Carlow travels to Mount Aloysius College Sept. 26 for a 7 p.m. AMCC matchup.
