Mount Aloysius posts shutout of Men’s Soccer in AMCC matchup

CRESSON, Pa. --- Carlow University men's soccer lost a lopsided Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference contest to Mount Aloysius College on the road Tuesday.

The Mounties (5-1-3, 2-0 AMCC) defeated the Celtics (1-5-1, 0-1 AMCC), 11-0.

Carlow tapped three different goalkeepers in the match, but Mount Aloysius continued to pile on the points.

The Mounties went up, 3-0, early on in the game before tacking on a goal in the 45th minute to head into the locker room at halftime with a 4-0 lead.

Mount Aloysius scored back-to-back goals in the 47th minute and another at 50' to extend its lead to 7-0.

The Mounties added their final four goals at 56', 61', 65' and 87'.

Juan Comacho tallied two goals and three assists to lead Mount Aloysius, while Curtis Brewer and Gonzalo Terricabris scored two goals apiece. Louis Bez recorded three assists on the night.

Nico Bel notched Carlow's only shot on goal in the second half.

Kevin Garcia was tabbed with the loss after making five stops in 47 minutes of work.

The Mounties out-shot the Celtics, 33-1, and did not allow Carlow a single corner kick the entire match while totaling 11 opportunities of their own.

The Celtics host Penn State New Kensington at Highmark Stadium for an 8 p.m. game Thursday.
