Pitt Bradford holds off Men’s Soccer in AMCC matchup

BRADFORD, Pa. --- Carlow University men's soccer lost a close, 2-1, Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference match to Pitt Bradford Saturday.

The Panthers (1-8-1, 1-2 AMCC) scored less than three minutes into the match when Will Smith found Devin Stowe for the goal.

The Celtics (1-7-1, 0-3 AMCC) kept Pitt Bradford off the board for a while, but the Panthers added their second goal of the night at 37'.

Carlow prevented the Panthers from scoring the remainder of the game, and were afforded a break in the 59th minute when a free kick by Nico Bel was unsuccessfully cleared and credited as an own goal. Bel had another good look at 69' but Pitt Bradford's keeper came up with the save.

Kevin Garcia made seven stops in the complete game effort in net.

Pitt Bradford out-shot the Celtics, 20-8 (9-1 on goal) and held an 8-4 corner kick advantage.

The Celtics return to action with a nonconference game against Saint Vincent College Oct. 4 at Highmark Stadium.
