Alfred State Drops Non-Conference Loss

Alfred State was unable to hold off a strong St. John Fisher team that resulted in a 6-0 loss at Orvis Stadium on Tuesday night.

Although it was a strong defensive battle from both teams to start the first half, St. John Fisher put their first goal of the evening in the back of the net in minute 21. The Cardinals went on to put two more goals up in the half. St. John Fisher continued their offensive pressure in the second half, scoring three more goals to take the win. Alfred State defended 22 shots from the Cardinals, 14 of which were on goal.

Jena Schelble and Kendall Artlip both recorded a shot on goal each for the Pioneers. And, despite the outcome, Kate Sprool recorded several incredible saves, corralling eight saves on the evening.

Alfred State look to open conference play Saturday, September 23 at AMCC opponent Mount Aloysius College.
