Pioneers Fall to Penn College in Home Matchup

The scoring efforts for Penn College led to a 6-1 win over the Alfred State women's soccer team on Saturday afternoon at Pioneer Stadium.

The Pioneers allowed eleven shots on goal while putting four on goal against Penn College keeper Nicole Lichtinger. Kaelynn Sheetz had a hat trick against the Pioneers while Billiegean Hennessy netted two goals to be the Wildcats leading scorers.

After heading into halftime behind 3-0, Alfred State's McKinlee Harris found the back of the net in the second half off a double assist by Jena Schelble and Karlee Hargather. The Pioneers defense, however, struggled to hold off a strong Penn College frontline. Goalkeeper Sierra Schofield had three saves in the first half while goalkeeper Kate Sprool collected two saves.

Alfred State looks to bounce back on Tuesday, September 19th in a home match against St. John Fisher.
