Panthers to Host Nazareth in Home Opener

Bradford, Pa. -- Following a 1-3 start to their season, the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford men's soccer team will open up their home slate on Tuesday as they host the Nazareth Golden Flyers.

The Panthers enter the match-up after two losses over the weekend in Steubenville, Oh. The Panthers lost their Friday night opener 4-2 to Muskingum, before struggling with the hosts, Franciscan, to the tune of a 7-1 loss.

A trio of Panthers have scored 2 goals each in the team's first four games. Austin Hogan and Spencer Sklar scored a goal each in games against Alfred and Thiel, while Stowe scored both against Muskingum. Stowe also has an assist. Jared Scarlett has played two games in the Panther net. He has the Panthers' only victory as he made 21 saves in the victory over Thiel.

The Golden Flyers are 2-2 so far this season and are coming off of a 1-0 loss at Brockport. Cuneyt Vardar is tied for 4th in the NCAA with 6 goals scored. Jake Pawlika has added 3 goals and assisted on 4. Logan Menna has started all four games in the Nazareth goal. He has a 1.81 goals against average and has made 13 saves.

The game is scheduled to kick off at 4:00 p.m. on the Soccer field at the Kessel Athletic Complex.
