Panthers to Open Home Slate with Thiel

The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford Women's Soccer team will kick off their home slate of games this fall with a matchup against Thiel College this afternoon.

The Panthers have gotten off to a slow start this season, dropping two games over the weekend. They fell 3-0 to Morrisville State on Friday and followed that with a 4-1 loss to Cazenovia Saturday. Cassidy King has led the offensive effort for the Panthers. She has the lone Pitt-Bradford goal in the early part of the season and has taken four of the team's nine shots. She has put three of those four shots on target. defender Katie Anderton provided the assist on King's goal. Emily Bethel has started both games for the Panthers. She has made 12 saves so far this season.

The Thiel Tomcats are 0-1 this season. In their only game, the Tomcats fell to Pitt-Greensburg 5-0. Hannah Strott put the only effort on target for Thiel, while midfielder Kelly Clark took the other shot, which went wide. Goalkeeper Samantha Hoffman made 7 saves in the loss.

The game is scheduled for a 4:00 p.m. kickoff at the Kessel Athletic Complex.
