Panthers to Begin AMCC Play with LaRoche

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's basketball team will begin AMCC play on Wednesday as they host the LaRoche Redhawks.

The Panthers are 2-8 on the season, picking up two wins in December over Keuka and Penn State-DuBois. In their last game, the Panthers led the Marywood Pacers after one quarter but were unable to keep up with the hosts in the 2nd half, who outscored Pitt-Bradford 44-18 to win the game. Ashley Hall led the Panthers with 11 points and 7 rebounds, while McKenna Kelly also reached double-figures, finishing with 10. 

This season, the Panthers have been led by Senior Ashley Hall, who is averaging 12.5 points per game. She makes 35.1% of her three-point attempts, which is the 6th best average in the AMCC. She also leads the team with 7.5 rebounds per game. Freshmen Abigail Goss has been an important piece of the Panther front court, as she averages 6.3 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. 

The LaRoche Redhawks come into the matchup at 4-7 this season. They enter conference play coming off of a win, as they defeated Geneva on the road to end 2022. Machia Hairston recorded a double-double in the victory, finishing with 23 points and 12 rebounds. Danajah Sanders scored 16 points in the game and Alexis Robison added 10 points off the bench. Sanders leads the Redhawks with 15.8 points per game, which is the 5th best scoring average in the AMCC. Hairston adds 13.5 points per game, while Makayla Abram also averages double figures at 12.1 points per game. Hairston is 3rd in the AMCC in rebounding, collecting 10.5 per contest.
