Women's Basketball Looks to Pick Up 3rd in a Row Against Buffalo State

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's basketball team will host non-conference opponent Buffalo State on Wednesday evening, as they look to add on to their 2 game win streak heading into their holiday break.

The Panthers (2-7, 2-3 AMCC) won their AMCC matchup with Medaille College on Monday by a score of 64-62. They held off the Mavericks in nailbiting fashion as they were able to get a block on a game winning three point attempt with seconds left on the clock. Pitt-Bradford had 4 players finish in double figures, with no player scoring more than 11 points. Shaelyn Snipes, Taylor Sutryk and Jasmin Miller all scored 11, while Shirleah Ragin scored 10. Snipes also grabbed 10 rebounds recorded her 2nd career double double. Snipes is the Panthers leading scorer this season, averaging 11.1 points per game. Miller and Ragin are just behind Snipes in scoring, averaging. 9.6 and 9.1 ppg each. Senior Jenna Hicks leads the team in rebounding, averaging 8.9 per game.

The Buffalo State Bengals are 3-3 this season, with a 1-0 record in SUNYAC play. They are coming off of an eleven day break, as they won their last game on January 7th against Fredonia by a score of 72-59. The Bengals are led by Senior Guard Liv LeBaron, who is averaging 21 points per game, which is a third of the teams scoring average. LeBaron is also the team's leading rebounder, grabbing 8 boards per game. Her backcourt mate Katie Villarini also averaging double figures, scoring 13 points per game.
