Snipes Scores 18 in Panther Loss

Bradford, Pa. -- Junior Shaelyn Snipes scored 18 points for the Panthers in a 77-33 Panther loss on Saturday afternoon.

Game Notes:

  • Jasmin Miller scored the first three points for the Panthers, hitting a free thrown and then driving to the basket for a layup. The Bobcats built an 11 point lead over the next 5 minutes. Snipes hit two threes in the final two minutes of the quarter to cut the lead to 8 after one.
  • Snipes continued her run after the break. She started the quarter with another three and following a Bobcat basket inside, hit a 4th three to cut the lead to only 4 points. The Panthers went cold after the Snipes threes, as they were only able to score 6 points over the final 8 minutes of the half. At the same time, the Bobcats slowly built an eleven point halftime lead. 
  • The Panthers' struggles continued in the third, as they were only able to score 3 points in the quarter, a free throw from Snipes and a La'Shyra Williams jumper. Pitt-Greensburg scored 29 in the quarter, opening up a 37 point lead. 
  • In the final period, the Panthers were able to put 9 more points on the board but saw the Bobcats increase their lead with 16.

Leaders:

  • Shaelyn Snipes led the Panthers with 18 points. She made 6-14 from the field and 4-9 from 3. 
  • Jasmin Miller was the second-highest scorer, finishing with 5.

The Panthers are now 2-17 on the year and 2-12 against AMCC opponents. They will travel to Buffalo on Wednesday, as they will play Medaille at 8:00 p.m.
