Women's Soccer Edged By Mount Aloysius

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg's women's soccer team was edged by Mount Aloysius in a narrow 2-1 loss on Wednesday night, Oct. 6.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Despite getting off twice as many shots on the goal, Penn State Harrisburg (4-4-4) was unable to net the equalizer in a loss to Mount Aloysius (5-6) by the narrowest of margins on Wednesday night.

The Mounties struck first when Katie Figinski found the back of the net off a Johnna Adams assist in the 11th minute. Before the first half was through, however, the Blue & White pulled even when Sydney Hemler collected a ball from Katie Kosovac and fired a shot past Mount Aloysius goalkeeper Lauren Davey in the 27th minute.

Things remained knotted at 1-1 heading into halftime but the visitors struck again after the break when Figinski found twine for the second time, this time off an assist from Halee Peters in the 53rd minute.

Penn State Harrisburg got off two good looks in the final four minutes, the first by Sarah Toche-Manley and the second by Hannah Morrison, but Davey proved game and made the stops that allowed the Mounties to escape with the narrow victory.
