PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Hilbert G Emily Gawlak led her team to two AMCC victories by averaging 21 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.5 steals, and 3.0 assists last week. Gawlak recorded 19 points, nine rebounds, five steals, and six assists in the win against Altoona. In conference play only, she leads the league with 18.9 points per game, is third in minutes per game and fifth in steals.

 

BEST OF THE REST: PS-Behrend G Caitlin Carnuche averaged 20.5 points last week in two AMCC games, leading the way against Pitt-Bradford with 22 points, downing two three-pointers in the fourth quarter as well as five free throws to lead the team to a 63-59 victory, she then scored 19 points against La Roche on Saturday and helped bring the Lions back by scoring a team-high seven points in the fourth period...La Roche F Jenna Cole had strong showings this week for the Redhawks to help her team go 2-0 in conference games, as she nearly finished with a double-double against Alfred State, posting 13 points and nine rebounds, she followed that up by scoring her 1,000th career point en route to recording a team-high 18 points against PS-Altoona...Pitt-Greensburg G Nadege Durand recorded her seventh double-double of the season which helped propel the Pitt-Greensburg women's basketball team to a 62-55 victory at Medaille this past Saturday afternoon, as she tallied a game-high 23 points and 13 rebounds in the win over the Mavericks...Franciscan G Abby Baierl was the Lady Barons' offensive leader for the two win week by averaging 19 points per game, as she started the week with an efficient 14 points in 19 minutes against Medaille, and then followed it up with a team-high 24 points against Alfred State...D'Youville G Sara Pfeiffer has had an impressive start to her Spartan career, contributing largely to the team's 68-53 victory over Mount Aloysius on Wednesday, as she scored 19 points on 7-for-15 shooting from the field and 4-for-10 shooting from three in the win over the Mounties, while also adding five rebounds, three assists, and three steals in her first career start with D'Youville...Mount Aloysius G Lea Sammarco had an impressive shooting week for the Mounties, shooting 50% from the field, including an impressive 53% from three point range, while also producing 17 points in an upset attempt against Hilbert on Saturday, including the game-tying three with three seconds remaining...PS-Altoona G Sydney Snyder had a great performance for Penn State Altoona in a 1-1 week of AMCC play by the women's basketball team, as the junior guard averaged 15.5 points per game, 4.0 rebounds per game, 2.0 assists per game, 1.5 steals per game, and 1.5 blocks per game, while also going 9-for-10 from the free throw line...Pitt-Bradford G Shirleah Ragin averaged 14 points, nine rebounds and five steals per game in two losses for the Panthers this week, as she scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the near upset against Behrend, and then followed that up with 13 points and nine rebounds against Altoona.
