PLAYER OF THE WEEK: PS-Altoona SS Haley Giedroc had a big week at the plate for the Lady Lions, helping her team go 2-1-1. In Wednesday's doubleheader split at AMCC opponent Pitt-Greensburg, she combined to go 5-for-7 with seven RBI, four runs scored, two doubles, two walks, two stolen bases, and one home run. In Thursday's doubleheader at Juniata, she was 1-for-5 with four runs scored, three times hit by pitch, three RBI, two stolen bases, two walks, and another home run. On the week, Haley hit .500 (6-for-12) with 10 RBI, eight runs scored, four walks, four stolen bases, two home runs, and two doubles. Her on-base percentage was .684, and she slugged 1.167.

 

BEST OF THE REST: PS-Behrend C/INF Mackenzie McIntire hit .464 in a 7-1 week for the Lions, recording 13 hits, three doubles, six RBI, two runs and one stolen base, while also adding 17 putouts and nine assists with no errors...Franciscan 2B Allyson Weiss extended her hitting streak to nine games with at least one hit in every game of the Lady Barons' two doubleheaders this week, as she went 5-for-12 with four runs scored and six RBIs, while also hitting a pair of home runs and going 3-for-4 on the base paths...Medaille C Lauren Kocher had a very good weekend at La Roche, batting .500 (3-for-6) and knocking in two runs as the Mavs split with the Redhawks, including a 2-for-3 performance in game one with two crucial RBI as they topped La Roche 4-3...Pitt-Bradford UTIL Madison East put together another strong week at the plate, working six hits -- three of which going for extra bases -- while also driving in three runs and scoring four as part of her .353 week...La Roche C Kelsey Bayer hit .571 (4-for-7) with two RBI and a run in a split with Medaille...Pitt-Greensburg OF Katlyn Kennan batted 4-for-11 at the plate, including a grand slam to tie the game at 10 in the bottom of the sixth inning in Pitt-Greensburg's 11-10 victory against Penn State Altoona...Hilbert INF Jenna Castricone hit .417 (5-for-12) with a double and two RBI in a 2-2 week for the Hawks in conference play...Mount Aloysius OF Kayla Hopkins went 5-for-13 (.385) in a 3-1 week for the Mounties, including three RBI, one run scored and a home run.
