The Penn State Behrend softball team hosts Penn State Altoona in their Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) regular-season finale on Saturday for the AMCC Games of the Week.. Game times are 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Behrend has clinched a spot in the AMCC Tournament next weekend as Behrend and Altoona are gunning for the No. 1 seed for the upcoming playoffs. Last time out, the Behrend Lions swept Alfred State in five innings each game (11-3, 8-0). Cami McNany, the reigning AMCC Player of the Week, went 4-for-5 with four RBIs in the wins over the Pioneers. Jocelyn McNany recorded her conference-leading third home run while adding a double in game one vs. Alfred State. Kayla Lindberg threw a two-hit shutout in game two, fanning four batters for her sixth win of the season. Behrend holds a plus-34 run and plus 23-RBI differential in AMCC play, while ranking second in batting average .362

At the plate, the Altoona Lions have been getting strong contributions throughout their lineup. Sophomore utility player Cameryn Feathers has been having an excellent first season with Penn State Altoona, as she currently ranks second in the AMCC in home runs (2), third in slugging percentage (.579), sixth in batting average (.421), and eighth in on-base percentage. Sophomore middle infielder Olivia Smith is tied for third in the conference in extra-base hits (11), and she is third in doubles (9), seven in runs scored (23), and eighth in slugging percentage (.544). Senior infielder Jayde Burge ranks seventh in the AMCC in doubles (7) and is 10th in the conference in RBI (20). Freshman infielder Gianna Hoppel has the fourth-best batting average in the league (.429), while fellow freshman catcher Brooke Boonie is fifth in the conference in on-base percentage (.465) and 10th in batting average (.387). Meanwhile, Penn State Altoona’s two starting pitchers, junior Casey Reese and freshman Alyssa Fisher, have paired together well to provide strong innings in the circle for the Lions. In the AMCC, Reese currently ranks third in innings pitched (80 2/3), fourth in wins (7) and strikeouts (54), and sixth in in complete games (8) and strikeouts per game (4.69). Fisher is second in the conference in wins (9) while also being fifth in opponent batting average (.267), sixth in earned run average (3.02), and ninth in complete games (6).

The all-time series began in 2001 with Behrend holding a 32-14 lead against the Altoona Lions. The Behrend Lions have won 12 of the last 15 meetings, as Behrend went 3-1 against Altoona last year.
