Mount Aloysius College senior outfielder Jalisa
Westover is the Player of the Year and D'Youville College
sophomore Kalie McHenry is Pitcher of the Year as
the AMCC announces the 2014 Softball All-Conference Team.
Westover, who was a co-recipient of this award in 2012, batted
.422 this past season and was a key component in the Mounties' run
to a runner-up finish in the AMCC tournament. She led the
league in doubles (16) and hits (54) and ranked second in RBI
(37). McHenry worked more innings (140.2) and threw more
complete games (19( than any other AMCC pitcher. She ranked
second in ERA (1.49) and strikeouts (120).
Penn St. Behrend freshman Maddie Mulig claimed the
Newcomer of the Year award. She sported a .389 batting
average while recording 23 runs scored and 29 RBI with just one
strikeout all season. Mulig a .951 fielding percentage
starting at third base.
Behrend head coach Ashley Gruber was voted Coach
of the Year after guiding the Lions to the regular season title and
the top seed in the conference tournament. Gruber owns the
distinction of being the only AMCC coach to have been named both
Coach of the Year and Player of the Year. Gruber shared the
Player of the Year award with Westover in 2012.
