Panthers to Host Hawks in Season Finale

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford women's basketball season will come to an end on Wednesday night, as they play their final game of the year against the Hilbert Hawks. The game will also serve as the Panthers' Play4Kay game, as they look to raise awareness for all forms of female cancer while honoring all those affected by it. They will also celebrate Senior Night as they recognize their lone senior, Emily Bethel.

The Panthers are 3-20 on the season with a 1-14 record in AMCC play. In their last game, the Panthers were able to jump out to an 11-point first-quarter lead against 2nd place LaRoche on Monday night but eventually fell to the Redhawks 73-50. Cailey Barnett led the Panthers with 11 points. Avery Benzel scored 10 points of the bench, shooting 50% from the field, including 1-1 from three. Cassidy King grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds and added 8 points. Barnett is leading the team with 11.3 points per game. King scores 8.3 per game and leads the team with 9.9 rebounds per game. Juniors Ashley Hall and Daizjah Brown score 7.1 and 7.0 points respectively.

The Hawks enter the game with a 6-17 record overall, including a 5-9 mark in AMCC play. The Hawks are coming off of a 65-58 home loss to Penn State-Altoona last weekend. Ashley Schroeder leads Hilbert with 16.3 points per game. She also added 5.4 rebounds per game. Macy Kisner is averaging a double-double for the Hawks, as she scored 12.9 points and grabs 10.0 rebounds per game.

In their first matchup this season, Pit-Bradford fell behind early and was unable to complete a comeback, falling 62-51 in Buffalo. Ashley Hall led the Panthers with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Cassidy King also recorded a double-double, finishing with 14 points and 11 rebounds. 

The lone senior that will be recognized is Emily Bethel, who joined the program this season after 4 years as a goalkeeper on the soccer team. A role player, Behtel has averaged 7.8 minutes per game off the bench. She has totaled 21 points 26 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals and a block.

The following regulations will be in place to align with Pitt-Bradford's COVID-19 mitigation efforts for indoor events. All spectators, game staff, officials, and team members not actively participating on the court are required to wear a mask at all times. Masks must be affixed to cover the wearer's nose and mouth. All spectators will be required to sign in upon their entrance into the facility, as the lists will be used in any contact tracing efforts that may become necessary. They will be required to provide a name and contact phone number to game staff.

The game is scheduled for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off. In KOA Arena.
