CLERMONT, Fla. - The Penn State Behrend softball team swept its second day of games in Florida, scoring wins over Elms and Husson on Monday.

Game One:
 Penn State Behrend 17, Elms 5
Records: Penn State Behrend (3-0), Elms (1-2)

Key Moments:

* The Lions began the game with a five-run first inning
* Alexia Brown (Wexford, PA/Pine-Richland) scored the first run of the game on a passed ball and then freshman Julia Jones (Wilcox, PA/Johnsonburg) made it 3-0 with her first collegiate run batted in
* Centerfielder Sierra Williams (Grove City, PA/Lakeview) capped off the eventful top of the frame with a two-run single
* Elms would plate four in the bottom half of the opening inning to cut the deficit to 5-4
* With the bases loaded, Elms' Kyla Cook tallied a bases clearing double and then was hit in on an RBI triple from Amanda Raymond
* The Blazers knotted the score at five apiece in the second inning thanks to an RBI triple from Caity Flynn
* Behrend would regain the lead in the top of the third, batting around and scoring five runs
* The inning was highlighted by a pair of RBI doubles from sisters Julia and Maria Jones (Wilcox, PA/Johnsonburg)
* M. Jones went deep for her first homer of the season to give the Lions a 14-5 lead in the fourth
* Three more runs in the top of the fifth lead to 12 runs (17-5) which put the eight-run rule in effect
* Abby Tingley (Union City, PA/Union City) came on in relief of J. Jones in the third inning and was effective, holding Elms hitless and striking out six batters
* At the plate, M. Jones finished 2-for-3 with five RBIs, while J. Jones drove in three runners

Game Two: Penn State Behrend 6, Husson 2
Records: Penn State Behrend (4-0), Husson (3-2)

Key Moments:

* A fielder's choice RBI from Bulla McCabe allowed Husson to take a 1-0 lead in the top of the first
* Behrend would take the lead in the bottom of the third on a Williams two-RBI double
* The Eagles responded with an RBI single in the top of the fourth to knot the score at two apeice
* The next half inning, the Lions would plate four more runs, highlighted by an M. Jones RBI double and a Jocelyn McNany (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) two-run homer. This marks the second straight day that McNany has cleared the fence
* On the bump, Kayla Lindberg (Austinburg, OH/Geneva) settled in after the first inning, giving up five hits with eight strikeouts and four walks
* M. Jones finished the day 4-for-7 at the dish with six runs batted in
