Panthers to Open Home Slate with Medaille

Bradford, Pa. -- The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford Women's basketball team will open their home schedule on Tuesday, hosting former AMCC foe Medaille in their first action in KOA Arena this season.

The Panthers have gotten off to a slow start this morning, as they are winless through their first four games. Just yesterday, the Panthers traveled to Buffalo to make up a game with Buffalo State that was postponed on Friday due to snowfall. The Panthers struggled to find their range offensively, falling 69-42 to the Bengals. Daizjah Brown led the Panthers with 10 points off the bench. Trinity Lockwood-Morris scored 8 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in her first career start. Avery Benzel and Alexa Ackerman each scored 6, with Benzel tallying 5 assists and 3 steals.

The Panthers will look to upperclassmen Daizjah Brown and Ashley Hall to lead the offense. Hall has averaged 7 points per game while shooting 38.9% from three. Brown is averaging 3.3 points per game but will look to improve her scoring as she steps into an increased role. Freshmen Trinity Lockwood-Morris and Abigail Goss will look to provide the Panthers with an inside presence. Goss has averaged 6.5 points and 4.3 rebounds per game so far this season, while Lockwood-Morris averages 4.8 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.

the Medaille Mavericks are 1-1 on the season and are coming off of a long break as their weekend matchup with SUNY Geneseo was postponed due to snow in the Buffalo Area. Their last game was November 12th, when the Mavericks lost to SUNY Brockport 53-48. Erin Harrdick scored 24 points in the loss. Ariea Garrett scored 12 and grabbed 12 rebounds.

Hardick is averaging 22 points per contest through two games. She also averages 7 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game. Ariea Garrett is averaging a double-double with 14.5 points and 11.0 rebounds per game. Shyanne Trinh is also averaging double figures, scoring 13.0 points per game so far this season.

The game is scheduled to tip off at 4:00 p.m. in KOA Arena. For those unable to attend, links for live video and statistic streams can be found on the Pitt-Bradford Athletics website.
