Men's Tennis Defeats Pitt-Greensburg in Conference Opener

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's tennis team earned their first Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) win of the season, defeating Pitt-Greensburg 9-0 on Sunday evening at Westwood Racquet Club.

* Behrend only gave up three set points in the three doubles matches to start
* Jonathon Laier (Lansing, MI/Holt) and Akash Sangha (Milton, Ontario/White Oaks) only surrendered one set point at No. 1 doubles, winning 8-1
* Owen Sinnott (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) and Aidan Piazza (Fairview, PA/Fairview) blanked their opponents at No. 2 doubles, before Luke Vunora (Natrona Heights, PA/Highlands) and William Thomas (Greensburg, PA/Greensburg Salem) completed the doubles sweep with an 8-2 decision
* All six players won their singles matches to finish with a pair of wins on the night
* Laier, Sangha and Piazza posted the same scores in their singles matches
* Laier, competing at No. 1 singles, earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory followed by Sangha at No. 2 singles (6-0, 6-1) and then Piazza in the fourth spot (6-1, 6-0)
