ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Penn State Behrend softball team dropped a non-conference doubleheader with the Mt. Union, 10-1 and 3-2, on Saturday afternoon.

Game One: Mt. Union 10, Penn State Behrend 1 (5)
Records: Penn State Behrend (6-5), Mt. Union (11-1)

Key Moments: 

* The Purple Raiders tallied six runs over the first two innings and added another four in the fourth
* Mt. Union generated 12 hits, getting seven extra-base hits while allowing three hits over the five innings
*
Jocelyn McNany (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) smacked her third home run of the season for the lone run
* McNany put the Lions on the board with a long ball to left field in the top of the fourth
* Lexi Edgett (Frisco, TX/Lone Star) and Kayla Salvini (McDonald, PA/Fort Cherry) each got a double on the day
* Starting pitcher Kayla Lindberg (Austinburg, OH/Geneva) drops to 3-2 on the season, throwing 3.1 inning and striking out one
* Maria Jones (Wilcox, PA/Johnsonburg) got the final two outs of the fourth inning in relief

Game Two:  Mt. Union 3, Penn State Behrend 2
Records: Penn State Behrend (6-6), Mt. Union (12-1)  
 
Key Moments: 

* The Purple Raiders scored three unanswered runs in the fifth inning to erase a two-run deficit to complete the sweep
* After two scoreless innings, the Lions registered the first run for a 1-0 lead in the third
* Alexia Brown (Wexford, PA/Pine-Richland) advanced after being hit by a pitch and then stole second
* A sacrifice bunt by Lauren Rabanal (San Diego, CA/Westview) got Brown to third
* M. Jones got one hit closer to 100 career hits with a double to right center to score Brown
* Behrend pushed the lead to two runs in the fourth  with a ground out sacrifice by Meghan Petitte (Sugarcreek, OH/Garaway) to score McNany
* Mt. Union used three hits to score three runs in the bottom of the fifth thanks to a triple by DP Kendyll Cahill with two outs showing for a 3-2 lead
* Chloe Bird did not allow a Behrend hit in the final two innings to preserve the win
* Abby Tingley (Union City, PA/Union City) threw a complete game, striking out three and allowing three runs on eight hits
