BEHREND'S MEN'S AND WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY TEAMS EARN USTFCCCA ACADEMIC AWARDS

Penn St. Behrend junior Riley Crissman, along with both of the Penn State Behrend men's and women's cross country teams have received U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic recognition for their performance in the classroom this past season.

Crissman was one of the 682 student-athletes named USTFCCCA All-Academic with women accounting for 56 percent of that total number (382). In order to qualify for this honor, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 and finish in the top 25 percent of their respective regional championship meet.

For a team to be considered for this distinction, it must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Meet. The team must also have a minimum team GPA of 3.10 on a 4.0 scale.

The men's and women's teams were two of 393 teams honored by the USTFCCCA. Of those teams, 215 women's squads made it and 178 of them were men. The Behrend men compiled a 3.15 GPA and the women held a 3.30 GPA. Both the men's and women's cross country team were are led by head coach Greg Cooper.
