BEHREND WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO CALVIN IN NCAA TOURNAMENT

The fifth-ranked Calvin University women's volleyball team advances to the NCAA Division III Regional semifinals with a 3-0 win over Penn State Behrend on Thursday night in Van Noord Arena. 

Calvin held a 41-22 advantage in kills while each team had a total of 95 attacks over the three sets. Heidi Westra led with 11 kills and 11 digs for the double-double. The Knights hit .500 in the first set to post a 25-10 victory. Down 19-13 in the second set, the Lions got within one at 21-20 to force a Calvin timeout. Behrend tied it at 22-all and the Knights won the final three points for a two-set lead. In the third set, Calvin had 13 kills with one attack error for a 25-10 decision to continue its chance at an NCAA Title. 

Maddie Clapper led the Lions with 15 digs and Keely Hering recorded eight kills on 21 attempts with one error . Dani Kosslow dished out 17 assists and dumped over three kills. Brooke Joncas added five kills and three digs for Behrend. The Lions finished their season with a 22-6 overall record
