The Penn State Altoona and Mount Aloysius College women’s volleyball teams renew their rivalry on Tuesday night, when the Lady Lions host their nearby AMCC opponents for a 7:00 p.m. match in the Adler Athletic Complex.

Mount Aloysius (13-5, 4-0 AMCC) is currently 4-0 in AMCC play, behind a strong core group. Junior OH Machala Gibbons currently leads the AMCC in total kills and kills per set. Senior S Emma Pevarnik leads the league, with over 100 more assists than the next closest player. She averages almost ten assists per set. Junior L Kylee Clawson also leads the AMCC in digs per set. Sophomore OH Ashlee Parrish has been key in AMCC competition, as she is currently leading all players in conference play in total kills, with 56 through four games. The Mounties are currently on a five-game winning streak heading into the rivalry game against Penn State Altoona.

Penn State Altoona (5-8, 1-1 AMCC) has been solid defensively this season, ranking first in the AMCC in digs per set (17.49) and third in blocks per set (1.70). Freshman Lydia Mock is sixth in the AMCC in digs per set (4.11) while also ranking 10th in points per set (2.8) and 13th in kills per set (2.24), and senior Lauren Diller (0.66 blocks per set) and sophomore Alexis Cannistraci (0.64 blocks per set) have been strong up front, ranking seventh and eighth, respectively, in the conference in blocks per set. Freshman Jenna Bauer has been key to the team’s offense, ranking ninth in the league in kills per set (2.38) and 11th in points per set (2.8). Senior Emily Bryan and freshman Kayla Moran have split the setting duties, averaging 3.88 assists per set and 3.15 assists per set, respectively.
