PITT-BRADFORD, PENN ST. BEHREND TIE FOR WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL PRESEASON TOP SPOT

With Pitt-Bradford taking the AMCC women’s volleyball championship title a year ago, and Penn State Behrend finishing first in the regular season, AMCC coaches expect the Panthers and Lions to once again finish at the top of conference standings. Mount Aloysius College has been picked to round out the top three.

The AMCC Preseason Player of the Year is Pitt-Bradford junior OH Riley Anderson. Anderson is the returning AMCC Co-Player of the Year. She was an AMCC first team all-conference selection as sophomore and second team all-conference as a freshman, as well as being named to the AMCC all-tournament team. Anderson was the top hitter in the conference, as she led the AMCC with 393 kills, 3.61 kills per set and 1,157 total attacks. Anderson also led the conference with 442 points and 4.1 points per set. Her 427 digs ranked fifth-best in the conference, the most digs of any non-defensive specialist/libero in the AMCC. She also recorded four matches of 20 or more kills, while also totaling 32 total blocks, 31 service aces and 17 assists.

The AMCC Championship will be held November 10 at the site of the #1 seed, with the winner earning the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
