    The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced teams that have earned the AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2015-2016 season, and the Mount Aloysius, Penn State Behrend, and Pitt-Bradford volleyball teams each earned the honor.

    Franciscan University took an efficient 3-0 route to victory over Medaille College to earn their second straight AMCC women's volleyball title.

    Link had a huge week for the Lady Barons, leading the team to its second-straight AMCC title. In the senior's first match of the week, Link became just the second player at FUS to crack 1,000 kills with 12 against Mt. Aloysius. She then needed just four kills to become the all-time kills leader at FUS and posted a season and career-best 21 kills against Penn State Altoona in the conference semifinals, just one kill shy of FUS' single-game record. She finished the week with 11 kills against Medaille in the championship match to finish the week with 44 kills while hitting .258 and posting 4.00 kills per set. Link now has 1,040 kills in her career at FUS. Defensively, she hit double figures in digs in each set and finished the week with 43, including a season-best 22 digs against Penn State Altoona. She averaged 3.91 digs per set. Link was named to the 2015 AMCC all-tournament team

    In the first round of the AMCC women's volleyball championship tournament, #3 Franciscan University defeated #6 Mt. Aloysius College, 3-0, while #5 La Roche College defeated #4 Penn St. Behrend, 3-0.

    Cleversley had a huge week for the Lady Mavs and led them to a 2-0 finish in the AMCC to secure the AMCC #1 seed and the right to host the AMCC Championship. Cleversley started out the week by leading the Lady Mavs in kills (14) in a five-set come from behind road win over Pitt Bradford. She then followed that up with a team-high 16 kills in a four set win over Penn State Altoona in the winner take all season finale on Medaille's Senior Day. Cleversely totaled 36 kills (3.33 kills per set) on the week, 37 digs (3.56 digs per set) and had a .338 hitting percentage in the two pivotal AMCC matches.

    Medaille College (17-7, 7-2 AMCC) has earned the top seed in what looks to be a very entertaining championship tournament that doesn't appear to have a weak link.

    Muldoon racked up 40 kills in a 2-1 week for the Lady Mavs. She had 12 kills and a .385 hitting percentage as Medaille swept previously unbeaten AMCC foe Penn St.-Behrend on Tuesday. She then added 28 more as Medaille split with Pitt-Greensburg and La Roche on Saturday when Medaille hosted an AMCC Quad Match. Muldoon leads the AMCC with 3.18 kills per set, and 254 kills while she is second with a .315 hitting percentage.

    Penn St. Altoona MH Tori Shingler has been named the ECAC South Division III Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for the week ending October 18.

    Shingler put up some big numbers to help the Lady Lions go 3-1 last week, including 2-0 in conference play. In a 3-1 win over Mount Aloysius on Wednesday, she had 10 kills and two solo blocks. In a split with Waynesburg and Grove City on Thursday, she totaled 20 kills, four aces, four solo blocks, and two block assists in two matches. In Saturday's win at Pitt-Bradford, she put up 14 kills, three solo blocks, and two block assists. For the week, she recorded 44 kills (3.14 kills per set) while swinging at a .330 clip, four aces (0.29 aces per set), 10 digs (0.71 digs per set), and nine solo blocks/four block assists (13 total blocks - 0.93 blocks per set).

    Rauh had a strong week for the Panthers, leading her team to a 2-0 week with victories in straight sets over Hilbert and Elmira. She finished with 24 assists, four service aces and seven kills in the victory over Hilbert. She then added 16 assists and eight digs in the Panther's victory over Elmira. Raugh finished the week with a .522 hitting percentage, 6.67 assists per set and five aces. She is currently sitting second in the conference with 0.47 service aces per set and is fourth with 7.14 assists per set.

    Talford had a huge week for the Lady Mavs helping them to go 3-0 on the week and get off to a 2-0 start in AMCC action. She had 80 assists on the week, including a season high 55 in a come from behind five set win against Franciscan. She also had an impressive .348 hitting percentage with 22 kills. Talford also jumped into 4th place all time in service aces as she had notched seven on the week to get to 142 for her career. She needs 18 more service aces to become Medaille's all-time leader in the category. Talford leads the AMCC with 8.84 assists per set.

    Mercer led the Mounties to an AMCC conference opening weekend split. She led with 16 kills, 36 digs and five blocks during both conference games. She also averaged 3.56 kills/set and had a .269 hitting percentage during conference play. She is second in the conference in kills/set (2.72) and third in total kills (136).

    Hammer had a strong week to help the Lady Lions post a pair of dominating wins. On Wednesday at Penn State Harrisburg, she had 12 kills and five service aces. Against York College (NY) on Saturday, she had seven kills and three aces. On the week, she totaled 19 kills (2.71 kills per set) while swinging at a .417 clip and finished with eight aces (1.14 aces per set).

    Over Labor Day weekend the Mount Aloysius College women’s volleyball team traveled to San Juan, Puerto Rico for exhibition matches against Puerto Rican NCAA universities.

    Muldoon played an integral role in helping the Lady Mavs to a 3-2 start to the 2015 season. She averaged 3.26 kills/set and had 62 total kills to go along with an impressive .329 hitting percentage. This included a season high 15 kills in a five set win over regional powerhouse Nazareth College. Muldoon also chipped in on defense with 24 digs and 14 blocks. Her 3.26 kills/set currently leads the AMCC and she is in the top five in hitting percentage and blocks/set.

    Snyder helped the Lions open up the season with a 2-2 record. In four matches, she totaled 42 kills, 22 digs, eight blocks and seven aces. She averaged 2.80 kills per set. In the two wins, she hit .348 and tallied double-digit kills in each match (15, 14).
