BEHREND WOMEN'S SOCCER TRAVELS TO CONNECTICUT IN FIRST ROUND OF NCAA TOURNAMENT

The Penn State Behrend women’s soccer team will travel to Middletown, Connecticut and the campus of Wesleyan University to take on the Cardinals (14-1-2) in the first round of the 2021 NCAA Division III Tournament on Saturday. Time to be determined.

The Lions (19-1) are making their 11th appearance in the tournament, earning the automatic bid winning their 15th Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) with a 2-0 win over Pitt-Greenburg this past weekend.

Wesleyan was ranked as high as No. 13 in the national rankings this season and lost a heartbreaker in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championship to Middlebury with the game being decided via penalty kicks.

The Cardinals will also host Ithaca (14-4) vs. Stevens (9-6-4) with the winners of each match facing off Sunday.

This will be the first time the Lions and Cardinals have squared off against each other.
