McGUIRE, MICHAEL PICK UP TOP HONORS AS WOMEN'S SOCCER ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM RELEASED

Penn State Behrend senior F Brenna McGuire has been tabbed as the AMCC Women's Soccer Player of the Year. McGuire led the AMCC with nine goals in eight league contests. She also posted three assists to rank second in points with 21. The senior finished the regular season with four game-winning goals. Overall, McGuire ranked fourth with 12 goals and fifth in points (28). She recorded nine multiple-point games, including a season-high four goals against Medaille.

Defensive Player of the Year honors goes to Penn State Behrend seniord D Ava Michael. Michael recorded one goal and four assists for six points as a defender. She started every conference contest and helped the Lions to shutout every AMCC opponent. Overall, she is instrumental in the 14 shutouts and .028 goals-against average, only allowing five in 18 games. Michael has limited opponents to just 35 shots on goal. She also leads the team with eight assists in 18 starts.

Penn State Altoona sophomore F Mallorie Smith picks up Newcomer of the Year honors. Smith led her team in every major attacking statistic including shots (70), shots on goal (45), goals (11), assists (7), and points (29). She finished the season ranked sixth in the AMCC in total goals (11), and fifth in total assists (7). In conference play, she scored five goals and dished out a league-leading six assists. 

Behrend head coach Patrick O'Driscoll has been named the AMCC Coach of the Year, marking the sixth time he has received the honor. O'Driscoll guided the Lions to a perfect 8-0 record in conference play, eventually guiding them to the conference title.
