PENN STATE BEHREND CLAIMS AMCC WOMEN'S SOCCER TITLE

#1 Penn State Behrend won their 15th AMCC Championship on Saturday afternoon when they defeated #2 Pitt-Greensburg 2-0 on their home turf.

The Lions struck first 13:47 into the match, as Brenna McGuire received a pass at the top of the box from Mia Zec and fired a low line drive to the bottom right to open the scoring. Greensburg had Behrend pinned in their own end and on the defensive, forcing four corners following the goal. Isabella Mollica scored the Lions second goal by bending a ball from near the goal-line off the far post and into the back of the net. That was all the offense that Behrend needed, shutting out their opponent for the 10th straight game. The Lions also increased their winning streak to 15. Behrend goalkeeper Morgan Harding made two saves in goal and earned her eighth clean sheet of the season.

With the win, Behrend (19-1) also clinched an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.  Seeding and selections will be announced Monday.
