The Franciscan University department of athletics has announced Christyn (Dupre' '10) Bobak as the next head coach for the women's soccer program.
 
Bobak comes to Franciscan after serving as the Assistant Athletic Director and girls' soccer coach at North Catholic High School in Cranberry, PA. As the assistant AD, Bobak worked closely with the Athletic Director in organizing all sports programs for the fall, winter, and spring seasons, including building schedules, orchestrating logistics of practices and games, and communication with parents, coaches, other teams, and school administrators. She helped to enhance the athletic programs to better market the school, which included the running the school's athletic and spirit apparel store.
 
As a coach, Bobak led the girls' varsity soccer team to a winning record and a spot in the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic League (WPIAL) playoffs in 2018.
 
Prior to her time at North Catholic, Bobak taught at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Academy in New Orleans, LA from August of 2010 until May of 2018 and was the 8^th-grade and junior varsity girls' soccer coach. As a coach, Bobak assisted with the two-time state champion team. She helped to organize team schedules, held daily training sessions, and communicated weekly to parents on the status, progress, and vision of the team. As a teacher at Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Bobak taught 8^th-grade and freshman theology level classes. Alongside her teaching duties, Bobak served as the level-leader and helped to recreate the religion curriculum for the 8^th-grade and freshman level classes, as well as planned retreats and liturgies and moderated the Pro-Life Club for six years. Under her guidance, the Pro-Life Club went from 75 members to 200.
 
Bobak also coached the Louisiana Fire Soccer Club in New Orleans from 2012 until 2014. There she managed and coached 8-10 year-old girls' soccer club teams, organized weekend games and twice-per-week practice sessions. Bobak had weekly communication with parents about the progress and status of the team.
 
Bobak is a 2010 graduate of Franciscan University, earning her bachelor of arts in theology and catechetics. In May of 2016, Bobak earned her master of arts in theology from the Notre Dame Seminary of New Orleans.
 
While at Franciscan, Bobak played on the first Lady Baron varsity soccer team in 2008 and 2009. In her two varsity seasons, the Lady Barons posted an overall record of 16-18-2 and was 8-11 in the AMCC.
 
Bobak's husband, Christian, has been the head men's soccer coach at Franciscan since 2016.
 
Bobak will officially begin her tenure as the women's soccer coach in the beginning of August.
