The AMCC Women's Basketball Game of the Week is a rematch of last year's championship game, as 1-0 Penn State Behrend travels to Pittsburgh to take on the 2-0 La Roche University Redhawks. Behrend and La Roche join Penn State Altoona as the only remaining undefeated teams in conference play.
The Lions enter Wednesday's contest looking to put together their first win streak of the season. Behrend is coming off a 93-62 win against Pitt-Greensburg on Saturday. The win marks the largest offensive output by the Lions this season. Behrend is averaging 71.3 ppg and holding opponents while 68.8 ppg. The Lions are first in the AMCC in rebounds per game with 43.5, a 5.9 margin against La Roche in eighth (37.6). Morgan Altavilla, AMCC Preseason Player of the Year, and Rachel Majewski are in the Top 10 for scoring in the conference. Altavilla is fifth (15.0 ppg) and Majewski is seventh (13.5 ppg).
La Roche enters Wednesday’s Game of the Week riding a three game winning streak, including two victories in AMCC play. The Redhawks are also on a 47-game AMCC Regular Season winning streak. La Roche is currently led by Jazmine Dunn, averaging 13.3 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 2.8 steals per game. Dasja Anderson follows right behind averaging 13.1 points, while Alexis Robison averages 11.8.
In the all-time series, Behrend leads 31-28 dating back to the 1996-97 season.
