LANTZ NAMED HEAD COACH OF PITT-GREENSBURG WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

The Pitt-Greensburg Athletics Department announced on Friday the hiring of Darien Lantz as the new Head Coach of the Bobcat Women's Basketball program.

Lantz, a Pitt-Bradford graduate, has spent the last four seasons as an assistant coach at Thiel College. While at Thiel, Lantz helped develop and mentor some of the top players in the Presidents Athletic Conference. She had a chance to learn from one of the longest tenured coaches in the conference in head coach Rob Clune who just finished his tenth season at the helm of the Tomcats.

On top of her coaching career, Lantz spent three seasons as a member of the Pitt-Bradford women's basketball team. She started all 27 games her senior year as a member of the Panthers and played over 30 minutes per game.

Lantz sees the opportunity to be back in the Pitt system and being part of the Pitt-Greensburg community in specific as something she can thrive in. "I am a proud Pitt alumnus. It is very surreal to be back in the Pitt system. The small Pitt-Greensburg community provides more resources and experiences on a larger scale. From what I've witnessed, Pitt-Greensburg Women's Basketball always has a demeanor of toughness and intensity. I am thrilled to be a part of such an electrifying atmosphere."
