First place La Roche University (13-5, 13-1 AMCC) travels to Buffalo, NY on Saturday afternoon to take on third place D'Youville College (12-7, 10-4 AMCC) in the AMCC Women's Basketball Game of the Week. 

After losing their first conference game of the season at Penn St. Altoona, La Roche has bounced back with consecutive, decisive victories over Medaille and Mt. Aloysius at home, outscoring the conference foes by a combined 75 points. Jenna Cole scored a season-high 22 points in the victory over the Mounties and has averaged a team best 15.4 points per game in conference play (5th in AMCC). Junior guard Ayanna Mazyck’s averages 12.9 points per game and her 2.6 steals per game rank first in league standings. Sophomore forward Dasja Anderson averages 11.9 points per game while shooting 53% from the field (3rd in AMCC). The trio of Anderson, Mazyck and Cole have averaged 21.0 rebounds per game in AMCC action. The Redhawks offense has scored 75.3 points per game in conference play (2nd in AMCC) while holding their opponents to 57.8 points per game (3rd best in AMCC). With a 13-1 conference record, La Roche owns a one game lead in the league standings over Hilbert College (12-2).

The D’Youville women’s basketball team plays in their fourth AMCC Game of the Week this week against La Roche, winners of two of the previous three. D’Youville defeated Penn State-Behrend in their second meeting of the AMCC Game of the Week last week by the final of 74-68, sweeping the season series. Then on Saturday, the Spartans got revenge in their lone AMCC Game of the Week loss this season by defeating Penn State-Altoona 62-58. The Spartans have won each of their last three games and six of their last seven since the next year started. Freshman transfer Sara Pfeiffer has come into the team and established herself as a force in the conference. She has scored at least 18 points all eight games since joining the team and is averaging 20.3 points per game in her last three games. That is an addition to 5.6 rebounds per game, 3.6 assists per game, and 3.0 steals per game in her last three games as she is averaging 21.0 points per game in her time with D’Youville. Reigning AMCC Newcomer of the Year Danielle Hore has played a huge role for the Spartans as well as has 16.3 points per game, 12.6 points per game, 5.0 assists per game, and 3.6 steals per game in the last three games. She tallied back-to-back double-doubles against Behrend and Altoona and is the team’s leader in nearly all categories.
