D'Youville College will travel to Erie, PA on Wednesday evening to take on Penn State Behrend in the AMCC Women's Basketball Game of the Week.
Despite dropping their most recent game to Pitt-Greensburg, D'Youville enters the Game of the Week with a 7-4 conference mark and had won four straight before that loss. Sophomore guard Danielle Hore leads the Spartans with 11.9 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. Hore also leads the Spartans, and ranks third in the conference, with 4.6 assists per game. She recorded her first triple-double when she scored 10 points and added 10 rebounds and 10 assists against Pitt-Bradford. Freshman Sara Pfeiffer began playing after the New Year and averages 21.4 points per game in her young career. Pfeiffer set a school record on January 15 when she drained 10 three-pointers against Pitt-Bradford, finishing the game with 34 points.
After dropping two straight games, the Penn State Behrend Lions picked up a win in their most recent outing, defeating Penn State Altoona 78-77, to increase their record to 7-3 in conference play. Sophomore guard Caitlin Carnuche leads the Lions, and ranks fourth in the conference, with 16.3 points per game. Forward Ashley Seamon's 8.7 rebounds per game rank her fifth in league standings. Forward Alanna Dibble averages 12.3 points per game, as her 56.4 field goal percentage is tops in the conference.
D'Youville defeated Behrend in their first meeting this season, as the Spartans picked up the 68-59 victory on December 4.
