The AMCC women's basketball game of the week features the Medaille College (7-10, 6-4 AMCC) Mavericks traveling to Hilbert College (8-9, 5-6 AMCC) to take on the Hawks. After a slow start to the season, Medaille is red hot in 2017. The Mavericks have won six straight games, all by 14 points or more. Hilbert enters the game on a two-game losing skid but leads the league in field goal percentage defense (38.1%), holding a slight edge over the Mavericks.  The Hawks lead the league averaging 44.47 rebounds with a +8 rebound margin thanks to their efforts on the offensive glass (17 OR/Game) where they are ranked #25 in Division III.

After starting conference play 0-4, the Mavs are now 6-4 and sit tied for third with Penn State-Behrend, who they defeated earlier this season. Seniors MarceAnn Dunning (16.3), Kelli McCauley (18.1), and junior Dani Reinwald (15.9) are all averaging over (15) points per game and have sparked a lethal Maverick offense. The addition of Reinwald as a mid-season transfer has had a huge impact as she has earned a double-double in all nine games she has played this season. That total is good for 31st in the entire country, and first in the AMCC.

Junior guard Kelsi Ebert leads the Hawks in scoring tossing in 15.8 points per game.  She also ranks in the top five in the league with assists per game (3.6), steals per game (2.8) and free throw percentage (76%).  Freshman guard/forward Taylor Corts chips in 11.6 points, looking for shots outside the arc. Junior forward Shannon Rogers clears the glass for 8.6 rebounds and adds 9.9 points per game while sophomore forward Katelyn Proy leads the team at 61.5 field goal percentage while swatting away 1.6 blocks per game on defense.

In early December, Hilbert claimed a 71-60 road win.
