Defending AMCC softball champion Penn State Behrend has been selected by league coaches to once again claim the conference title in 2025. Pitt-Bradford is expected to finish in the second spot with Mount Aloysius College rounding out the top three.
Penn State Behrend junior UTIL Meghan Petitte has been tabbed as the AMCC Preseason Player of the Year. Petitte was the 2024 AMCC Player of the Year, while also earning AMCC all-conference first team honors and was also named to the NFCA All-Region Second Team. Petitte finished first on the team in batting average (.433), hits (58) and RBIs (39). She tallied a .472 on-base percentage and a .687 slugging percentage in 42 games played.
Penn State Behrend junior P Abby Tingley has been selected as the AMCC Preseason Pitcher of the Year. Tingley was named the 2024 AMCC Pitcher of the Year. She also earned AMCC all-conference first team honors while also being named to the NFCA All-Region Third Team and the All-ECAC Team. Tingley led the Lions in the circle last season, finishing with an 18-5 overall record for a 1.35 ERA. She pitched 134.1 innings and fanned 94 batters. She allowed just 26 earned runs in 25 appearances, recording five shutouts in 16 complete games. Tingley went undefeated in AMCC action (9-0).
The AMCC tournament kicks off on Saturday, May 3 with First Round games and will conclude with the conference championship best 2-of-3 series on Friday, May 9 and Saturday, May 10. The AMCC champion will earn the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
