PENN ST. ALTOONA'S CHAMBERS HEADS SOFTBALL ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM

Penn State Altoona senior first baseman Kelly Chambers has been named the 2015 AMCC Softball Player of the Year. Chambers led the conference with 12 homeruns, 94 total bases and an .812 slugging percentage. She was second in RBIs (42), fifth in hits (47) and on base percentage (.461), and sixth with a .409 batting average. She averaged 0.33 homeruns per game, which ranked her 10th nationally. Chambers was also just as strong with the glove, posting a .983 fielding percentage while ranking fourth in the conference in putouts with 217. Her 12 home runs this year set a new Penn State Altoona single season record

D'Youville junior Kalie McHenry has been tabbed as the Pitcher of the Year for the second consecutive year. McHenry, a five-time AMCC Pitcher of the Week, led the conference with 21 wins, a 1.01 ERA, and 180.1 innings pitched. She also ranked first with seven shutouts and 23 complete games and was second with 164 strikeouts. McHenry's 21 wins ranked eighth nationally and her 1.05 ERA, 11th. 

Newcomer of the Year honors goes to Pitt-Greensburg oufielder Alyssa Panza. Panza hit .337 on the year, including 17 RBIs and 26 runs scored. She ranked eighth in the conference in triples (3) and ninth in doubles (8). 

D'Youville's Ona Halladay has been named the AMCC Coach of the Year. Halladay guided the Spartans to their first AMCC regular season title and the right to host the conference tournament for the first time in school history.
