GALLIGAN EARNS RUNNER OF THE YEAR HONORS FOR THIRD STRAIGHT YEAR

Franciscan University junior Liam Galligan is the 2019 AMCC Runner of the Year. Galligan won his third straight individual title this past weekend and helped lead Franciscan to back-to-back AMCC Championships. Galligan finished the championship race in 24:42.7, placing first out of 73 individuals, while also setting the AMCC championship record. During the regular season, Galligan held the top four times in the conference, with his best outing coming on August 30 at the Westminster College Fisher Invitational, when he finished the 8K course in 24:37.4.

Newcomer of the Year honors goes to Baron freshman Miguel Daez. Daez ran a season best 25:33.8 at the AMCC Championship meet to give him second place finish. In his rookie campaign, Daez ran the seventh and eighth best times in the conference during the regular season, with his best outing coming on October 19 at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble, crossing the finish line in 25:53.0.

Franciscan head coach Dan Kuebler and Penn State Behrend's Greg Cooper have been named Co-Coaches of the Year. Kuebler coached the Barons to their third conference title, while also coaching six all-conference honorees, including the runner and newcomer of the year. Cooper guided the Lions to a second place team finish and saw seven runners named to the all-conference team.
