PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Geneva MB Byron Spear had a big week for Geneva, leading the Golden Tornadoes to three AMCC victories, including a five-set victory over Penn State Behrend in the AMCC Match of the Week. He set a career-high in kills twice, with 15 kills in each of Geneva's five-set victories over Thiel and Penn State Behrend, and he set career-highs against Penn State Behrend with nine blocks and 19 digs. For the week, he finished with 37 kills (2.85 k/s) on a .265 hitting percentage, along with 13 blocks (1.0 b/s) and 40 digs (3.08 d/s). He also finished the week with 45.0 pts (3.5 pts/s).

 

BEST OF THE REST: Hiram MB Dangelo Boehner helped contribute to a 2-1 week for Hiram, as he totaled 39.5 points, 30 kills, 12 total blocks and six digs, while averaging 2.73 kills per set with a .383 hitting percentage...PS-Behrend OH JP Goodsel posted back-to-back double-doubles this weekend in AMCC action, registering career-highs in kills (21) and digs (18) against Geneva, while also adding 12 kills and 12 digs in the win over St. Vincent, he averaged 3.3 kills per set, while adding five blocks and five service aces on the week...PS-Altoona OH Jared Bodisch continued his strong season during a 2-1 week for the Lions that included a pair of AMCC wins, as he recorded 32.0 points (3.6 points per set), 30 kills (3.33 kills per set), and 15 digs (1.67 digs per set)...Medaille OH/OPP Malachi Jackson averaged 3.83 kills per set with a .218 hitting percentage, as he had a total of 46 kills, one assist, 27 digs and three blocks in a 2-1 week for the Mavs...Thiel MB Jake Dies recorded 30 kills, 13 blocks and 10 digs in three AMCC matches last week, as he averaged 2.73 kills per set, 1.18 blocks per set and 0.91 digs per set, while owning an attack percentage of .333 on the week...Saint Vincent OH Matthew Minkin led the Saint Vincent offense in three matches with 36 kills, while also adding 27 digs, two blocks and five service aces, as his best game of the week came against Penn State-Behrend where he erupted for 18 kills (while committing just three attack errors), along with 14 digs, one block and one ace...Hilbert OH Brad Converse continues to contribute in every category statistically, earning 20 kills, two assists, three aces, 11 digs, and a block over the weekend against Thiel and Penn State-Altoona.
