AMCC RELEASES MEN'S VOLLEYBALL ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM; McCRACKEN NAMED PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Geneva College senior MB Quinn McCracken has been named the 2020 AMCC Men's Volleyball Player of the Year. McCracken finished second in the AMCC in kills per set (3.69 kills/set) and third in hitting percentage (.337) with over 90 more kills (321 kills on the season) than anyone else in the AMCC. He finished in the top ten in blocks per set (0.66 blocks/set). McCracken broke the single-match school-record with 26 kills against Johnson & Wales. He was named to the all-tournament teams at the NCCAA Invitational and the Nazareth Invitational, while also picking up AMCC and NCCAA Player of the Week awards throuhout the season.

Newcomer of the Year honors goes to Wittenberg University's Dominic Melchiorre. Melchiorre made his way into the lineup in all 19 matches for the Red and White, posting 150 kills in 72 sets. The first-year middle averaged 2.08 kills per set, logging a team-high hitting percentage at .338. Melchiorre led the Tiger attack in six matches on the season, recording a match-high 13 kills on the road at Hiram. The Columbus native, also made his presence known on the defensive side, tallying 42 blocks on the season, leading the Wittenberg defensive front in six matches. Melchiorre posted 21 aces on the year, adding 29 digs and five assists to his total.

Geneva College head coach Curt Conser has been tabbed as the AMCC Coach of the Year. Conser led the Golden Tornadoes to a perfect 5-0 record in conference play, as the 2020 season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
