AMCC MEN'S TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP SET FOR THIS WEEKEND

The AMCC men's tennis championship will take place this weekend, April 23 & 24, at Westwood Racquet Club in Erie, PA. Three teams tied at the top of confrence standings with 4-1 records, so match points won decided the final seedings. Penn State Altoona earned the first seed with 10 match points won, Penn State Behrend was second with nine, and Medaille College was third with eight. In Saturday's semifinal matches, #1 Penn State Altoona will take on #4 Pitt-Greensburg and #2 Penn State Behrend will face #3 Medaille College. 

Penn State Altoona senior Kirk Eichenlaub and freshman Casey Hess led the Lions in singles play, each with 5-0 records, while sophomore Jake Irwin went 4-0 in the No. 5 spot. In doubles action, Tommy Davis and Joey Toth went 4-1 at No. 1 doubles, while Micah Brinker and Hess went 4-1 at No 2. doubles. 

Penn State Behrend senior Michael Brudy recorded a 2-0 record at No. 3 singles, while junior Mitchell May and freshman Johnathon Laier each went 4-1 in singles play. May and Laier also went a perfect 4-0 at No. 1 doubles, while Evan Dean and Alex Graeca also went 4-0 in doubles play. 

Medaille freshman Ben Tubbs led the Mavs with a perfect 5-0 in singles, with three of those wins coming at the No. 5 spot. Pablo de Ramon Boceta went 2-0 at No.1 singles. Doubles partners Ander Castillo and Rodrigo Fernandez, along with Celso Juberias and Ben Tubbs each earned 2-1 records in doubles play. 

Pitt-Greensburg junior Turner Price continues his dominance in AMCC singles play, as he went 5-0 in the No. 1 spot this season, having not lost a match since his freshman season. Price teamed up with freshman Deven Summers in doubles play, as the pair went 3-1 on the season.

The winners of Saturday's semifinal matches will square off on Sunday at 1:30pm for the AMCC Championship
