Zack Quiza, Franciscan UniversityApril 28, 2014The AMCC championship was on Quiza's racquet Sunday and he rose to the occasion in a three set thriller vs. Pitt-Greensburg's Tomas Monti. After teaming with senior Paul Jarzynka to earn the Barons' first point of the match at #1 doubles, the sophomore scored the match's final point in a 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 decision for a 5-4 Franciscan win. Quiza finished the AMCC season undefeated at both #2 singles and #1 doubles.

FRANCISCAN, PITT-GREENSBURG ADVANCE TO FINALS OF MEN'S TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPApril 26, 2014Top seed and defending champion Franciscan University defeated #4 Penn St. Altoona, 5-0, while #2 Pitt-Greensburg downed #3 Pitt-Bradford, 5-1, to advance to the finals of the AMCC tournament.

Allan Miller, Pitt-BradfordApril 21, 2014In a match against PS-Altoona, Miller was victorious in #4 singles (6-4, 6-3) and #1 doubles (8-3). The senior followed this performance by moving up a slot to #3 singles in a match against D’Youville where he went 7-6, 6-0 for the win. In #1 doubles, Miller was part of a close 8-6 to D’Youville.

Konstantin Teverovskiy, Pitt-BradfordApril 14, 2014In a match against Houghton, Teverovskiy swept his opponents for victory in #1 singles and #1 doubles. He followed this with a conference match against PS-Altoona, where he once again swept his opponent in #1 singles and #1 doubles.

Paul Jarzynka, Franciscan UniversityApril 07, 2014Jarzynka led the Barons in shutout play in the #1 spot for both singles and doubles. In matches against Bethany, Pitt-Bradford, and Pitt-Greensburg, the senior was a dominating force and helped his team finish the week nearly undefeated, going 26-1 in 3 matches.

Tyler Fox, Pitt-GreensburgMarch 31, 2014Fox enjoyed an undefeated week in #4 and #5 singles, not dropping a single game while posting a 3-0 record. The freshman also picked up 2 wins on the doubles side, playing at the #2 and #3 spot, to help the Bobcats team to a 2-1 week.

Paul Jarzynka, Franciscan UniversityMarch 24, 2014Jarzynka had a flawless week for the Barons, both in conference and non-conference play. Against conference opponent PS-Altoona, Jarzynka played perfect at #1 singles for a 6-0, 6-0 win. He then teamed up with partner Zack Quiza to win at #1 doubles. The senior followed this by again winning at both #1 singles and #1 doubles (with partner Zack Quiza) against Mount Union.

Robert Amabile, D’Youville CollegeMarch 17, 2014Against Houghton, Amabile played at #1 singles to win 6-3, 7-5. He then teamed up with partner Wei Yen Huang for the #1 doubles spot and achieved 8-3 victory. This marks the second straight match the senior is a double-winner.

David Cenkner, Pitt-GreensburgMarch 03, 2014Sophomore Cenkner made his debut for the Bobcats in successful fashion. He went undefeated at #1 singles, dropping just three games on his way to two straight set victories. Cenkner, paired with freshman Tomas Monti, also picked up two wins in #1 doubles by 8-5 and 8-1 scores as the Bobcats took on Washington & Jefferson and Waynesburg.

D'YOUVILLE NAMES WEISS TO COACH MEN'S TENNISNovember 25, 2013Stephen Weiss is the new head coach of men's tennis at D'Youville College.
