The La Roche University Athletic Department has announced the hiring of Cody Golon as head men's lacrosse coach. A former player and assistant coach at Division II power Seton Hill University, Golon brings considerable experience at various levels of the game to LRU.

Over the last two seasons, Golon has served as the assistant coach at his alma mater, Seton Hill University, specializing as an Offensive Coordinator. In the 2019 season, the team finished 12-5, won the GMAC regular season championship and earned a bid the NCAA playoffs. In 2020, the Griffins were off to a perfect 6-0 start before the COVID-19 pandemic halted their season. Three of his student-athletes were named Scholar All-Americans in 2020.

Prior to his return to Seton Hill, Golon served as the Offensive Coordinator at Peters Township High School for two seasons. At Peters, he helped lead the team to unprecedented success. The Indians posted a 33-11 record, two section and WPIAL championships and two PIAA state playoff berths. The two WPIAL titles were the first ever in school history. Golon also coached three All-Americans, a WPIAL Player of the Year, and multiple All-Section winners.

During his time as a player at Seton Hill, the men's lacrosse team made history, playing in their first NCAA tournament and defeating the number one ranked team in the country for the first time in school history. Golon was named Conference Player of the Week for his on-field achievements, scoring the game winner, during that game.

Golon was named the 2014 Seton Hill University Communication Award Winner. In addition, he was a three-time ECAC Academic All-Conference Award winner.

Golon earned his Bachelors degree in Communication from Seton Hill University in 2015 and his MBA in 2020.
