PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Alfred State P/1B Nick Serce was a key part in the Alfred State baseball team's 3-0 week, including two conference wins, to keep their win streak alive. In three games, Serce recorded five hits, three runs, four RBIs and a .455 batting average. In the Pioneers' 13-9 win over RIT, Serce picked up his first win of the season after pitching five innings and only allowing four hits and two runs, while walking five and striking out six. He also recorded one hit, one run and was walked once at the plate. To open up conference play, Serce went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer in their 5-2 win over Pitt. Greensburg. In their second game against the Bobcats, Serce went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and another home run.
BEST OF THE REST: PS-Altoona C Richard Carey had a huge day at the plate in Lions' doubleleader split at non-conference opponent Juniata last Tuesday, as he combined to go 6-for-7 (.857) in two games with four runs scored, one home run, and one RBI...PS-Behrend INF Isaac Stouffer had a career day at the plate in the Lions' victory over Franciscan, ending the day 5-for-5 at the dish, as he drove in six runs on three extra-base hits including two homeruns, totaling 12 total bases on the day and reaching safely in each plate appearance -- he scored four runs and had a perfect fielding percentage on four chances in the field...Medaille INF Nolan Gallagher earned a .333 batting average, a .385 on base percentage, and a .583 slugging percentage last week, as he went 4-for-12 with one homerun, two RBIs, and one run scored...Pitt-Bradford 1B Noah Meyers went 2-for-4 with a home run and three runs batted in in the Panthers' 7-6 win over Penn State-DuBois, as he gave the Panthers the lead in the fifth with a line-drive solo home run and then came through with a clutch two out single to bring in two more runs and extend the Panthers' lead to 5-1...Hilbert C Sam Mullen had a breakout performance in the Hawks' AMCC opening doubleheader against Mount Aloysius, as he went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles and belted his first home run of the season to lift the Hawks to a 9-2 win in game two, finishing the day batting .429 with a 1.143 slugging percentage and a whopping 1.572 OPS while driving in a pair of RBI and scoring a run of his own.
