PITCHER OF THE WEEK: Mount Aloysius FR Tyler Quade made two appearances last week, as he made the start and pitched six innings against Grove City, where the Mounties got the win. He then came in relief in an extra-inning game against Gettysburg where he picked up the win against the Bullets. On Monday against Grove City, Quade threw six innings where he struck out five and walked two, while giving up two runs, as the Mounties went on to win 7-6. Quade then entered the game against Gettysburg, throwing 3.0 innings and not allowing a run in the 9th, 10th, or 11th innings to earn the victory out of the bullpen. He is currently tied for fourth in the AMCC with a 4.5 ERA on the season.

 

BEST OF THE REST: Hilbert SO Michael Contini tossed a complete game on Saturday afternoon at Houghton College to improve to 3-0 through his first three starts on the season, he walked just one Highlander and added three strikeouts over seven innings of work while allowing only one earned run...Alfred State SR Chris Catoire picked up his second win last week in the Pioneers' 6-2 victory over RIT, as he recorded a 1.13 ERA, pitched eight innings and only allowed five hits, two runs, walked three and struck out eight...PS-Altoona SO Sam Homan made his second start of the season on the mound last Monday against Chatham, as the sophomore lefty recorded his first win of the year with a strong performance, limiting Chatham to two runs on four hits and one walk, while striking out six batters...Medaille SR Derek Holtz pitched a total of six innings allowing four hits with five strikeouts, averaging 7.5 strikeouts per seven innings and recording a 1.50 ERA in his loss to Hilbert.
