LA ROCHE'S HERSTINE, WILT HEAD BASEBALL ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM

2016 AMCC Baseball Player of the Year honors goes to La Roche College junior firstbaseman Ben Herstine. Herstine led the AMCC in hits (28) and ranked second in total bases (56) and triples (5). He also finished the regular season third in RBI (23), batting average (.444) and slugging percentage (.889), while he was fourth in home runs (5), and sixth in runs scored (22). Herstine was named AMCC Player of the Week on April 18 after he hit for the cycle.

La Roche senior Tanner Wilt has been tabbed as the AMCC Pitcher of the Year. Wilt was twice named to D3Baseball's Team of the Week and the AMCC Pitcher of the Week. He was the AMCC Preseason Pitcher of the Year and led the AMCC in starts (5), shutouts (2), strikeouts (57), strikeouts per nine innings (11.97), and ERA (.26). 

Pitt-Greensburg freshman outfielder Chris Common has been selected as the Newcomer of the Year. Common posted an impressive rookie campaign, recording second most hits in the AMCC during conference play (27). He was second on the team with 16 extra base hits, including 10 doubles and five home runs. Common ranked in the top eight in the AMCC for hits (2nd), doubles (7th), home runs (4th), RBI (6th) batting average (8th) and slugging percentage (6th) during league play. Common helped lead the Bobcats to a #2 seed and program-record 13 AMCC victories.

For the fifth time in six years, La Roche head coach Chase Rowe has been selected as the AMCC Coach of the Year. Rowe guided the Redhawks to a 15-1 AMCC record and their third straight conference title.
