#1 seed La Roche College and #2 seed Penn St. Behrend each won their opening games on the first day of the championship round of the AMCC baseball tournament.

La Roche overwhelmed Pitt-Greensburg, 10-1, behind the complete game pitching of senior righthander Cole Lentz.  Behrend scored eight runs in the final three innings – including three in the bottom of the ninth – to stun Mt. Aloysius, 9-8.

Play resumes at 9am Saturday, when Mount Aloysius and Pitt-Greensburg will meet in the first elimination game, followed by La Roche/Behrend.

The four team, double elimination tournament will conclude on Sunday, May 11.  The AMCC champion will advance to the NCAA Division III tournament.
